Knee Pain
Mild and moderate
knee pain can be treated at home. Whether due to arthritis or sprains these can
be often treated at home. Pain can arise due to inflammation or a minor injury and this often can be cured without
medical help. Home remedies should be tried to improve your comfort levels and
help manage your symptoms with ease. However, if there is acute pain that doesn’t
go away medical attention is needed.
Strains and sprains:
If one has twisted
a leg, taken a fall, or then sprained a knee then the first thing to know is Rest.
Resting one's knee or limiting movement may help you avoid further pain but it
can also stiffen the joints and recovery maybe slow but stable. However, you
may always opt for low-impact activities such as cycling, swimming, or brisk walking. Yoga can do you good
too.
Tai chi
This is an ancient form of mind and body exercise that can highly improve
your balance and flexibility. Studies show
that practicing Tai chi people with osteoarthritis can benefit. It can reduce pain and increase the movement of the muscles. These aspects may also aid in reducing stress levels and
help a person manage chronic body pains.
Weight control
Obesity can add pressure on your knee joints. One needs to control one's
weight and eat a healthy balanced diet to reduce knee pain. Fruits and vegetable
juices are one way of being healthy as it has lots of vitamins and nutrients.
Have a paste of ginger and honey daily to control obesity too.Garlic juice and
onion juice are highly beneficial to cure the inflammation and all one has to
do is apply a little amount of these juice on the area of the pain on daily
basis.
Turmeric
This is indeed a magical spice and has a long history of medicinal use. It contains a powerful anti-inflammatory compound called curcumin. This compound helps to alleviate pain and inflammation. Add a dash of ginger and turmeric in a glass of warm water and drink daily.
Cayenne pepper
The red spice contains an active component called capsaicin which is a
natural pain killer. Take a tablespoon of cayenne pepper and add to it a
teaspoon of canola oil. Make a paste and apply it to the affected area.
Natural home remedies do work and performing low impact exercises can help you heal faster. however, if pain persists then you may have to consult a doctor.
